I do not entertain the idea of prepping or militias with too much frequency for a very specific reason; I do not have much stock in either. The two seem to be activities rather than a mindset and these organizations forming militias tend to be populated by people who have ideas not based in reality. I feel that the current state of the militia movement is more toxic than it is organized and useful.
Total Resistance is a book that describes how to set up resistance cells and resist an invading force. The book is not a new book, and it was authored by a military officer out of Switzerland. Interesting thing is that the Swiss are generally neutral and much of their defenses are based on preparing for resisting a major invasion force. This book covers much of the ways in which a resistance force can set itself up and operate in general, whether it is in recruitment or targets for sabotage.
The SAR9 is a new pistol that is being imported by SAR USA. The pistol was supposed to be an overkill competitor to the Glock 17. This came about because the government of Turkey was offended that the Turkish military was considering Glock pistols over the domestic offerings available to them. Turkey as a whole is typically very prideful, as they should be. They take things very seriously and personally if someone is not pleased with a product. The pride that Turkish manufacturers have in their products goes back many generations and they have a sense of honoring the reputation of themselves, their families, and their culture.I respect that level of dedication to quality.
There is a short list of firearms that I was looking forward to testing in 2018, and the SAR9 was on it. On the surface, it seemed to be a blend between a Glock 17 and the H&K VP9/P30 series of pistols. But, on the inside, the pistol is entirely different. The pistol is basically like a fully modular Glock on the inside. Everything in the frame is removable and is beefed up compared to a Glock. But shooting the pistol is not quite like shooting a Glock.
I understand that for alot of people, it is popular to try to supplement skill by getting the lightest triggers and the snazziest gadgets. I usually find these types of people to be the lowest on the totem pole in the skill section. If you are offended by this observation, you are guilty of this and should be ashamed of yourselves.
