If there was one book that I could name as the best book to educate experienced shooters on their pistol-craft, it would be this book. This book is all about how one can go about using a pistol in order to survive in combat. This book clearly states that it is for the experienced shooters looking to up their game with a pistol in a serious way through expanding their knowledge. The idea behind the book is that the author sees CQB with a pistol as a science, and he does a great job of educating the reader on this fine science.
A book I had tried to read over a decade ago, The Killer Angels is still on the Marine Corps reading list, and it is understandable why once you get through with the book. This is a Civil War Novel that mainly follows the Generals involved in the Battle of Gettysburg. In fact, the old movie "Gettysburg" is heavily based on this book. I can understand why that book had such a heavy input on the movie as it is a vivid piece of writing that tells more than the reader may expect.
Total Resistance is a book that describes how to set up resistance cells and resist an invading force. The book is not a new book, and it was authored by a military officer out of Switzerland. Interesting thing is that the Swiss are generally neutral and much of their defenses are based on preparing for resisting a major invasion force. This book covers much of the ways in which a resistance force can set itself up and operate in general, whether it is in recruitment or targets for sabotage.
Books can be a great way to expand your views and ideas when it comes to training. Many authors are very experienced and have trained people for decades on how to win in a gunfight. This book is not only catered to men, but also goes into detail about how female shooters can train for a gunfight.
